What Is It Truly Worth? Lladró Oriental Figurines Appraised at $1,975

This week at DJR Authentication, we appraised a beautiful set of vintage porcelain figurines from Spain’s renowned Lladró brand. These three pieces—each part of Lladró’s sought-after Oriental Collection—reflect the delicate artistry and collectible potential that define high-end ceramics.

The Collection:

  • “Timid Japanese” (Model #4990): Issued 1978, retired 1998 – $475

  • “Oriental Spring” (Model #4988): Issued 1978, retired 1996 – $450

  • “Springtime in Japan” (Model #1445): Issued 1983, not retired – $1,050

Each figure was designed by Salvador Debon and hand-crafted in Spain using Lladró’s signature pastel-glazed porcelain. They are classified as Mint Without Box (MWOB) and remain free from cracks, chips, or restorations.

Why Appraisal and Authentication Matter:

Small differences in edition status, markings, or condition can drastically affect value. With collectibles like Lladró, a retired model or tiny chip can mean hundreds in lost resale or insurance value. That’s why we conduct in-person appraisals backed by research and market data—so you know exactly what your item is worth.

Should You Get an Appraisal?

Appraisal is ideal for:

  • High-value or collectible porcelain

  • Retired or limited-edition figurines

  • Fragile items where condition impacts value

  • Items passed down without receipts or records

Whether you're protecting your investment or preparing to sell, DJR Authentication makes it easy. Submit online or schedule an in-person visit.
